Start of Construction of Hospitality Pavilion at Oegstgeest Sloop Marina

Oegstgeest is gaining a welcoming new meeting place by the water. On Tuesday, September 30, the developer, the hospitality operator, and the municipality officially celebrated the start of construction of the hospitality pavilion at the sloop marina, located right next to the Joop van der Reijden Bridge. The pavilion is expected to open its doors in April 2026.

Start of Construction of Hospitality Pavilion at Oegstgeest Sloop Marina: A New Meeting Place by the Water

Alderman Elfred Bus, involved in the project, is enthusiastic about the plans: “With the expansion of the sloop marina and the construction of this hospitality pavilion, we are investing in an attractive recreational spot by the water. It will be a wonderful facility where people can meet each other and enjoy the view, a drink, or a meal.”

The construction of the pavilion is part of a collaboration between the municipality of Oegstgeest and project developer Naud Group B.V. Stéphane Cohnen, director/owner of Naud Group, is pleased that this milestone has been reached after years of planning. “The current plan fits perfectly with this location. Together with the hospitality entrepreneur we have found, a restaurant will be created that offers a pleasant place for both local residents and visitors.”

PuuRR aan de Rijn

The pavilion will house a restaurant operated by Hilgersom Horeca Groep: PuuRR aan de Rijn. Other PuuRR locations can already be found in Leidschendam, Zoetermeer, and The Hague. The restaurant will feature a sunny terrace by the water and ample parking in front. It will be open daily from 12:00 to 22:00. PuuRR aan de Rijn will also have its own ice cream parlor. Combined with play elements for children and comfortable seating areas to rest during a walk or bike ride, it will become a welcoming and lively meeting spot for young and old alike.

Expansion of the Marina

The sloop marina itself will include twenty-one berths. Three of these will be reserved for the hospitality pavilion, while eighteen will be available for purchase by interested parties. The allocation of the berths will take place through the municipality and is set to begin before the end of 2025.
